July 12, 1973: A newspaper article notes that Johnny Powers closed his health
club June 3, with many members having paid for annual memberships that
were now useless. The article also noted that Powers had moved out of
his 24-room home and was now working for Pedro Martinez's Buffalo
promotion. He was scheduled for the June 9 show, but did not appear.
Later articles confirm that Powers had filed for bankruptcy.
